ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project represents the California African American Genealogical Society’s (CAAGS) collection of funeral programs from its members and the public. The purpose is to provide information that can be used in researching one’s genealogy/family history.
CAAGS’ project consists of digitized online posting of extracted portions of the program that contain a photograph (if available), the obituary or biography, and the burial location. The project is ongoing. The funeral programs are those distributed, generally by the family, to the general public at services offered in remembrance of the deceased. These programs are generally arranged alphabetically by the names of the deceased persons.
